I have no way to know whether this thing does what it's supposed to do.
Getting the upper filter assembly separated from the lower filter
assembly was difficult. I wound up having to use a pair of needle nose
pliers to (gently) push the plastic in on one side so I could slide it a
bit. Then I pushed the pliers against the plastic on the opposite side
and it slid right out. Suggestion: separate the upper and lower portions
before you start the process since it's the hardest part of the whole
thing. Not sure I'd call it an actual "click" into place, as the
directions call it, but the filter assembly does seem to attach easily
to the bottom of the water reservoir.
